Ben is currently executive director of Odyssey Institute, a company he founded to create unique educational experiences for young people focused on Indonesia’s extraordinary ecosystems and cultures. Previously he was director of Green Camp at the Green School in Bali, helping establish the first environmental education summer camp there. Prior to this, Ben coordinated youth services for local government in Western Canada, where he founded the Bowen Youth Himalayan Odyssey, which took local youth on annual leadership expeditions to Himalayan India. Ben also helped establish the Himalayan Studies semester program for Where There Be Dragons, the leading provider of travel adventure programs in the US. He has 15 years of experiential education, youth work and travel adventure experience and holds a post graduate degree in Medical Anthropology. Ben has been living, working and exploring Asia since 1996 and currently lives in Bali with his wife and two children.
