Why do you recommend a homestay?
We know you'll benefit from immersing yourself in a Balinese village experience. However, if you think you'll be more comfortable in a hotel, our travel company can arrange your stay in one of our select hotels.
Can I stay at a friend's house in Ubud and pay less?
You are welcome to stay with personal friends, but unfortunately we can't offer you a discount.
Can I come for just part of the gathering?
The program is designed for people to participate all 7 days in order to benefit from the trainings, dialogue and community-building. Your experience will be incomplete without attending the entire program. Partial registration is not possible.
What happens if I get sick while in Bali?
The Ubud Medical Clinic will provide 24-hour service specifically designed to help with typical traveler's ailments. It's a great supplement to your personal medical coverage.
Is it extremely hot in Ubud in the summer?
The best news is that August has one of the most temperate climates of the year. Expect warm days averaging 28°C/82°F and evening breezes.
What type of clothes should I wear?
Very casual with good walking shoes, since there is uneven pavement in many places. Of course you'll want to purchase a beautiful Balinese sarong while you are there, for special occasions!

HOTEL & AIR FARE INFORMATION:
Homestays are rooms in family compounds. Bungalows are separate cottages within a compound. For those not wishing to stay in homestays or bungalows, a selection of Balinese hotels and villas are available for the regular registration rate plus an additional hotel/villa accommodation charge starting at $400/per person, 8 nights, double occupancy. Hotels are lovely Balinese-style, with full amenities and beautifully landscaped grounds and swimming pools. Villas are 5-star hotels with private pools, gorgeous views and breakfast served by your private pool patio.
Airfares start at $950 + taxes from SFO/LAX and $980 + taxes from New York. We highly recommend that you book you flights as soon as possible as you will be traveling in the high season and there is limitied availability of seats.

UBUD MEDICAL CLINIC ON-SITE ASSISTANCE
We have arranged with the Ubud Medical Clinic to provide on-site medical assistance during the conference for a fee of $30. All attendees are required to purchase this coverage. The Ubud Medical Clinic will provide 24-hour care for any number of travel-related ailments or minor medical emergencies. Please read the information in your registration packet. Fees collected go toward providing new equipment for the Ubud Medical Clinic and free health care for local Balinese.
